Jeremy & Fiona Hinchliffe, who jointly manage The First Aid Team, both qualified as First Aiders over 30 years ago and have both been involved in training in a number of fields over the years.
Not only do they teach First Aid but they also regularly put it into practice; covering events ranging from school sports days to rugby festivals.
They work with a small, select group of trainers, many of whom are medically trained, ambulance personnel or active event First Aiders, and all of whom hold current DBS certificates.
All our courses are run in a friendly and relaxed manner, and assessments are tutor led and carried out throughout the course.
Jeremy and Fiona strive to remain competitive, by keeping overheads to a minimum and passing on those savings to attendees.
We are members of the Federation of First Aid Training Organisation (FoFATO) and are fully insured for both first aid training and event cover.
We are a registered centre for Qualsafe Awards who are, in turn, an Awarding Organisation regulated by Ofqual to supply first aid courses within the QCF framework. This means that our regulated courses (Emergency First Aid at Work, First Aid at Work, Paediatric First Aid & AED) are audited both internally and externally several times a year to make sure we maintain the highest standards.
We are proud to be associated with the Fredericks Foundation. If you would like to learn more about them and what they do then please click on the link above.
Jeremy got his first, first aid certificate when in his early 20s; one of the tutors was his wife!
He has worked in many sectors as diverse as lorry driver to IT consultant and has a wealth of practical experience.
He became a First Aid instructor in 2009 as well as becoming a regular event First Aider at the same time which allows him to bring real-world practice into the classroom. He also qualified as a teacher in 2015
Fiona trained as a nurse after leaving school and went on to become a First Aid trainer for St John Ambulance.
When she and Jeremy started a family (they have 4 children and 4 grandchildren) she gave up full time employment and became a child-minder as well as working alongside Jeremy in their businesses.
She rarely trains now, focusing on administration and acting as an Internal Quality Assessor monitoring our trainers to ensure that the highest standards are maintained.
